4 Ways To Recycle Waste Textiles
The amount of waste textiles generated during the elimination and production process is huge every year, and what you may not know is that the recycling value of waste textiles is very high. There are usually four ways to recycle waste textiles: direct recycling, energy recycling, chemical recycling and physical recycling.
Direct Recycling
After sorting, cleaning, disinfecting and other treatments of waste textiles, they are still circulated for the original purpose, such as selling to economically underdeveloped areas.
Energy Recycling
Waste textiles are crushed and mixed with other crushed solid waste materials to make RDF alternative fuels with high calorific value and lower carbon emissions compared to fossil fuels, which are incinerated for power generation or used in cogeneration projects. It is mainly suitable for waste textiles that cannot be recycled.
Chemical Recycling
Use chemical reagents to degrade or decompose materials in waste textiles, repolymerize into polymers, and use them to prepare regenerated fibers, or use small molecules of degradation products for non-textile material applications. This method has high requirements for process technology.
Physical Recycling
Mechanically crushing waste textiles without changing their composition, and then reweaving usable textile products through a series of processes is the main way to recycle waste textiles at this stage.
Whether it is energy recycling or physical recycling, crushing is mentioned, but waste textiles are soft materials, very soft, and are difficult to crush. If you want to crush them to about five centimeters to participate in the production of RDF alternative fuels, the requirements for crushing equipment are very high.
Gomine Recycling has been focusing on the manufacturing of solid waste crushing equipment for many years. The main crushing equipment is a double shaft shredder and a single shaft fine crusher, which are more suitable for the crushing of waste textiles. Our textile shredder does not have to worry about soft materials being entangled in the shredder, because the textile shredder uses an anti-entanglement fixed knife design, which can effectively prevent the material from being entangled with the shaft and locked. There is also no need to worry about the size not meeting the requirements after shredding. The single shaft fine crusher is equipped with a drop screen with a flexibly customizable size. If the size is still unqualified after crushing, the material will be rolled up and crushed again inside the crushing chamber.
